SHERMAN OAKS, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A 12-year-old boy was killed after a car crashed into a parked moving van in Sherman Oaks Wednesday morning.
The collision happened around 10:17 a.m. on Woodman Avenue, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department. The boy's mother, a woman in her 40s, was driving when she crashed into a parked yellow GMC moving truck.
Movers were in the process of unloading items to an apartment and had cones out in the street as a precaution, police said.
The victim, who was pronounced dead at the scene, was sitting in the front passenger seat of a gray Lexus. The boy's twin brother and mother were taken to the hospital and are in stable condition.
No one else was injured in the crash.
Police say at the moment, there's no indication that drugs or alcohol were a factor in the crash, but the accident investigation is still ongoing.
